This book highlights the foundational principles, instrumentation, signal processing, and applications of medical imaging modalities including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine. It bridges physics, engineering, and clinical perspectives to offer readers a coherent view of both theory and practice. Each chapter includes learning objectives, worked examples, summary points, review questions, and problems to reinforce learning. Emphasis is placed on digital image formation, processing techniques, and emerging trends in AI and hybrid imaging.
Autorenporträt
Dr. Nag obtained his Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur and completed postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, USA, He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Central University of Rajasthan, India. His research spans medical image analysis, deep learning for clinical imaging, and AI-assisted diagnosis. Dr. Choudhary holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from IIT Indore. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Central University of Rajasthan, India. His research interests are in in biomedical instrumentation, image processing, and embedded systems for diagnostic and IoT-based applications. Dr. Kumar earned his Ph.D. from IIT Varanasi. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Central University of Rajasthan, India. His interests include wearable medical devices and miniaturized systems for health monitoring. He has published in journals and conference proceedings in related areas.
