Heavy metals occurs naturally in soils as rare elements. Heavy metals such as Cu and Zn are essential for normal plant growth and development since they are constitutes of many enzymes and other proteins. However elevated concentrations of both essential and non essential heavy metals in soil can lead to toxicity symptoms and growth inhibition.The presence of heavy metals may effect the enzyme activity in plants and also in human.

She has supervised 25 M. Sc. dissertations and published 20 papers in international and national journals of reputes along with recipient of various fellowships.
