The world has been confronted with energy crisis due to depletion of finite resources of fossil fuel, difficulties in their extraction and processing, leading to an increase of its cost. Globally, effort to substitute alternative fuels for petroleum are gaining attention in a world threatened by climate change, rural economic decline and instability in major oil producing countries. This has led to an increased interest in utilizing agricultural and forestry wastes to produce biofuels. The work embodies five chapters. The language of the text is simple and the subject matter is fully illustrated. It is therefore with great pleasure and honor that I write the forward to this book which would be found very useful by many Scientists and their students as well as all others that are interested in the book.

Usman Yahaya was born in 1982 in Katsina Local Government area of Katsina State. He attended Auntie Ramatu Nursery and Primary School. He Proceeded to Government Science Secondary School Dutsinma. He attended Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto and graduated with B.Sc Biochemistry.He proceeded to Nigerian Defense Academy for his M.Sc in Biotechnology
