The existence of basement membrane has been known since the eighteenth century as a demarcating layer between tissue compartments based on its refractive properties. It is a complex interface between the epithelium and the connective tissue. This book describes about mechanical and biological functions of basement membrane, and also about the demonstration & chemical structure & components in detail.

Dr Hitesh Kumar, passed his Masters of Dental Surgery in Oral Pathology & Microbiology in 2013 from University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. During his Post Graduation, he reviewed the entire literature available on Basement Membranes of cell. He also published various National & International research papers.
