Approximately 300 million people worldwide are suffering from asthma. Various immune cells play an important role in the pathology of asthma and especially the interaction of these players are causing the manifestation of the disease. This book gives a short overview of the pathomechanism of asthma and enables an interesting insight in the development of new therapeutic drugs. One way to improve the preclinical testing of newly developed anti-asthma drugs could be the using of a special mouse model. The specialities and advantages of this model are highlighted in this book.

The author of this book studied biology at the LMU in Munich and worked during his PhD thesis at the hospital of Munich.
