The book is twofold: the first part is about the definition of translation from different scholars and its types and its methods. it contains also the meaning of the process of translation and the unit of translation.the second part deals with the classification of translation theories and its famous theorists as philological theories, linguistic theories, philosophical theories, sociolinguistic theories, interpretative theories (ISIT), strategies of translation.

FATIHA GUESSABI is a senior lecturer at the department of English language and translation studies at the Tahri Muhammed University of Bechar in Algeria. She holds an MA in translation studies and a PhD. in Translation studies. Her areas of interest include translation theories, translation studies, teaching English language for Arab students, etc.
