Beschreibung

"The applied linguist and the foreign language teacher: can they talk to each other?" This is a question that Claire Kramsch asked in 1995. The book presents a practical attempt of mediation that involves a new relationship between theory and practice. It introduces a vocabulary acquisition theory, namely Hall's Parasitic Model,to a group of practitioners in the field of language education in an attempt to investigate how theory and practice can interact. Research findings suggest that the proposed tools of mediation encourage practitioners' involvement in developing pedagogical implications and building understanding based on the presented theoretical grounds.
