What is religiosity? What social roles religion plays? How does religion affect the nature of social and interpersonal relationships of laities? What roles religion plays in the provision of healthcare services? All the above questions are addressed in this book. The author adopts a phenomenological methodology and mainly emphasizing on describing the data from insiders points of view. Methods like Key informant interviews, focus group discussion (FGDs), observations and informal conversations have been used to address the research questions.

Kumilachew Siferaw is a lecturer of Social anthropology. He has more than 7 years of experience in teaching and researching anthropology with a strong work ethic and excellence. He has conducted researches related to religion, traditional medicine and conflict. He is currently Chair of the Department of Social Anthropology in Bahir Dar University.
