Childrens moral judgment of lying was an early area of investigation in developmental psychology, which, after being neglected for decades, has recently witnessed a resurgence of interest among social scientists. This book is intended to serve as a brief introduction to childrens decision-makings on the moral rightness and wrongness of lying. It can be used as a supplemental text for courses in child development and in particular child social moral development, or as a reference work for graduate students who are learning about the various ways of conducting a literature review. It will also benefit the general reader who wants to understand the social moral intricacies underlying the ways children make behavioral and evaluative decisions on complex issues such as lying and deception.
Autorenporträt
Minghui Gao is Associate Professor of Education at Arkansas State University. He earned a doctorate from the Harvard Graduate School of Eduction. Gao's interests include child social moral development, critical thinking, effective teaching, and (mis)understanding. He lives in Jonesboro, Arkansas with his wife Hongli and children Maggie and Melissa.
