Beschreibung
This work attempts to solve the problem why it can be said that John Lockes philosophy exerted a considerable influence on the French and American Revolutions. The answer will prove that John Locke was one of the originators of the ideas of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity which are basic foundations necessary for the establishment of a democratic system of government. This work will analyze the nature of democratic principles to show that they are essentially grounded in ethics and that they contribute to ways and means of enhancing the smooth functioning of a developed and stable society. This presupposition will be proved and evaluated by using the principle of deductive reasoning providing evidence that, the conclusion follows necessarily from the given premises. To resolve the research problem the descriptive method and the evaluative method will be used.
