Everything in the universe is conscious. Consciousness is a fundamental part of matter. The hypothesis was put forward by Arthur Eddington who said that we know the nature of matter that makes up the brain and that it is conscious. Therefore it follows that the matter outside the brain is aware as well. All knowledge of our environment from which the world of Physics is constituted has entered in the form of messages transmitted along the neurons to the seat of consciousness. Substrate of everything is of mental character. Mind is the first and most direct thing in our experience and all else is remote experience. The fact that all matter is conscious solves the hard problems of consciousness. Consciousness cannot arise out of unconsciousness. The Hindu idols, mantras and yagnas are alive and are force sensitizers that connect with the protoconsciousness field. This forms the basis of the Hindu mode of worship and it has its substrate in panpsychism. This can be called as avatars of protoconsciousness field.
