Newly appointed teachers need a set of teaching competencies that enable them to teach effectively when they first step into the classroom. They need to be prepared to effectively plan for teaching and learning, effectively manage classroom environment and students' performance, assess and evaluate their own teaching and their students' learning, communicate effectively, know their professional responsibilities, and teach under difficult circumstances. This training material provides the new teachers with the teaching competencies needed for effective teaching.
