Beschreibung

Present age is the age of development. Globally every country is trying its best to be more and more developed. The third world countries in particular are trying their best to achieve the status of being developed. The development of infrastructure in this regard is very essential. But, this infrastructural development has fallout in terms of negative impacts on those who as a result of these projects are affected in one way or the other. In order to address these adverse impacts on the people in general and the Project Affected Persons (PAPs) in particular resettlement planning is done to ensure that the affected people can re-establish themselves in an economically self-sustaining manner. However, resettlement planning will be successful only when the Resettlement Plans are prepared and implemented properly. It is through the proper Resettlement Planning and subsequent implementation that those adversely affected are assisted to improve or at least restore their pre-project living. The social workers by virtue of their professional knowledge are the best suited professionals to work for the betterment of PAPs so that they are not left out in the process of development.
