How do migration processes change social work? What role does voluntary engagement play in this? Communal migration work, professional actors and civil society organizations are considered to be of great importance - including migrant (self-)organizations. Their interactions in the socio-spatial context are the object of this study. The volume explores the question of whether and how successful diversity can be realized in the community. It also analyzes the relationships between volunteers and immigrants, as well as their motives, competencies and educational experiences. The contributors present research findings and formulate consequences for transformative social work.
