In many communities, traditional ways of caring for orphans & vulnerable children/OVC like extended family system are being severely strained by multiple & mutually exacerbating impact of HIV/AIDS; the critical challenge is to find ways to help communities care for the unprecedented number of children & families rendered vulnerable by HIV/AIDS. This book, therefore, analyses the community support services to OVC affected by HIV/AIDS. The book contains 5 parts: the 1st part introduces the essence of the work, 2nd part describes reviews of literature, 3rd part talks about research methodologies, 4th part discuss major findings of the work & the 5th part is conclusion & suggestions. This book should be useful to different professionals for research & advocacy purposes; for NGOs, government & other organizations for development projects & program work; it is especially helps to shed light to policy makers to realize the need for macro level interventions emphasized on development of comprehensive child protection policies, strategies & guidelines for supporting orphans & vulnerable children.
