The book explains about how Metaphorical thinking statements relevant to a content instructed in a class-room environment consciously by the teacher initiates the development of cognitive structures which helps the learners to understand and apply the knowledge of the content. The learners engagement in the class-room improves kindling self-motivation to learn. Practice of metaphorical thinking statements regularly in the class-room leads to semantic learning. The learners develop how to abstract generalizable principles to transfer learning from one situation to another as well as Promotion of learning by comparison by structurally aligning the given information to develop appropriate mental schema.

The author is an independent researcher, working as Senior Fellow of ICSSR affiliated to the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Her research interest is in the field of Cognitive Neuroscience applied to Education, which in turn paves the way to the development of new methods in the teaching-learning process.
