Reflecting the areas where Larry Sipe made his strongest contributions to our understanding of young people and their literature, the articles include a study of a single picturebook, a report on young people’s responses to a different picturebook, and two projects to incorporate actual responses from children into more broadly theoretical perspectives.  An unfinished article by Larry Sipe himself is included, as are a number of commentaries by students from his classes at the University of Pennsylvania.Previously published in Children’s Literature in Education, Volume 43 Issue 1, 2012.
