Adult Education is becoming significantly relevant and growing in importance in today's 21st century society, which is characterised by continuous change, within the framework of Lifelong Learning. It can be a key strategy to address many of the challenges of our society today if it is geared to respond adequately to the needs and demands of lifelong learning required in current social and professional contexts. Since it is a field of study with little prevalence and not abundant academic production, it is necessary to provide these teachings with a pedagogical model that structures and gives scientific foundation to their nature and educational practice.

De auteur is gepromoveerd in het onderwijs, heeft een graad in de psychologie en is docent aan een basisschool. Hij was adviseur voor de Permanente Opleiding van Leraren, directeur van het Instituut voor Secundair Onderwijs en gaf les op het niveau van het basis-, secundair en volwassenenonderwijs, en nam deel aan talrijke onderzoeks- en onderwijsvernieuwingsprojecten.
