This book is a rich resource for teachers, head teachers, school inspectors, members of school committees and boards, educational leaders, educational policy makers, and educational researchers. The book proposes redesigning school inspection in order to positively change the learners schooling experience by analyzing student data, identifying and addressing head teachers and teachers professional learning needs using the classroom and school as the units of analysis. The book argues that for learners needs and aspirations to be met in 21st Century schools, and for national, educational, and developmental goals to be attained in the 21st Century, especially in contexts such as Uganda, school inspectorates must be re-imagined, redesigned, and transformed so as to be vanguards of high standards, innovation, and creativity through collaborative and synergistic engagement with school communities. It is highly-competent school supervisors that can hold schools to high standards and support school professionals and communities in their efforts to transform the learning environments for increased student attainment and growth.

Fr. Nicholas S. Kiruma is a School Chaplain at Spiritus Sanctus Academy in Plymouth MI USA and a doctoral student at the College of Education of Wayne State University in Detroit. Fr. Nicholas has served in schools in his home Archdiocese of Kampala, Uganda as teacher, chaplain, member of school boards, mentor, and superintendent over two decades.
