This book addresses the significant problems that arise for pre-service teacher and graduate teachers who are unprepared for the complexity of 21st century teaching. It focuses on major factors impacting teacher preparation during an era of significant change, including topics on student learning academic growth, classroom practice, and the efficacy of teachers. The book considers crucial issues that enhance educational outcomes and investigates questions including what impact does the changing nature of teachers' work have on teacher preparation; what role does indigenous lecturers have in initial teacher education; how can educators evaluate blended learning; and what impact do teachers have on learners. This book provides evidence-based approaches that can be used to have a positive impact on education and narrow the gap in contemporary and emerging global topics in education.

Mathew A. White PhD is Deputy Head of the School of Education and an Associate Professor of Education at the University of Adelaide. He is also a Principal Fellow at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education and an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne. His research focuses on educational leadership, strategic planning, and wellbeing. In 2020 he was presented the Distinguished Contribution to Research in Educational Leadership Award by the South Australian Branch of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL-SA). Mathew held senior leadership positions in schools for a decade and has over 20 years of teaching experience. Faye McCallum PhD is Head of the School of Education and a Professor of Education at the University of Adelaide. Her research investigates the importance of well-trained teachers and leaders in the education system, the wellbeing of teachers and leaders and the impact of their wellbeing on learners. She was awarded the 2019 Dr Alby Jones AO Gold Medal by the Australian Council for Educational Leaders South Australian Branch for her contributions to the study and practice of educational leadership. She was a finalist for the 2020 Telstra Business Women's Awards.
