Beschreibung
Set in the military headquarters of an unidentified military body, The Interrogation interrupts the mainstream narrative of contemporary American, British and Canadian nation-hood. The play dramatizes the brutal interrogation of two soldiers, one junior and the other senior, by a mysterious chameleon interrogator (also a soldier) who assumes the accent, affectations and status of his victims. The Interrogation is the first play in The End of the World play cycle. The cycle examines the postcolonial contexts of war. The plays propose research on states of exception and challenge North American and European immigration policies. The cycle has been produced in Europe and North America thanks to the generous support of the European Union, WordBridge and many other wonderful institutions.

Dr Yasmine Van Wilt is an award-winning writer, singer-songwriter, performance artist and academic. She is a Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellow at Union College and a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts. She holds a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from Newcastle University. She has been published by Oberon Books, Millichap Books and Kobalt.
