Beschreibung
Anti-NFTs and emojis as real figures: Claire Fontaine question digital economy in the tradition of Marcel Duchamps readymades. Like Duchamps, the artist duo that calls itself Claire Fontaine uses everyday objects, playing with issues such as ownership and appropriation. Here they translate digital signs such as emojis into real space, newly painted or as luminous sculptures, which they call Anti-NFTs. The book traces these shifts from screen to exhibition space, reflects on the economy of standardized feelings, and shows how Claire Fontaine defunctionalizes seductive images - with works that examine critically how technological systems shape perception, language, and affect. Text: Lynn Kost.
