Beschreibung

Lusaka is the capital city of Zambia, one of the fastest growing towns in the Sub-Sahara Africa. The majority of the population lives in the peri-urban areas. The compounds are characterized with poor water and sanitation that has led to outbreaks of most human infections, such as water borne and water related diseases, due to poor sanitary facilities as well as sanitary conveyances. This projected report was tailored to investigate the stakeholder analysis in peri-urban sanitation development projects. It aimed at understanding the institution and organizations that have the stake in peri-urban sanitation development projects. More also to know their involvement and the role they play in providing and implementing sanitation projects. The study covers seven major stakeholders that have a stake in sanitation development, namely: Devolution Trust Fund (DTF), National Water Supply and Council (NWASCO), Water and Sanitation of Zambia (WASAZA), CARE International, Ministry of Local Government and Housing (MLGH), Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company (LWSCO), and. It also covered one peri-urban area; Kalingalinga where projects by these stakeholders have been carried out
