The issue of violence during electoral process has become a reoccurring decimal in Nigeria democracy. The disruption and violence during electioneering campaigns have led to loss of several human lives and destruction of properties worth billions of naira. Scholars have contributed significantly to literature on political and electoral violence but considerable attention have not been given to campaign violence, hence, the need to fill the gap. This work focuses on election administration and violence in western Nigeria in the pre-2015 general elections. Literature on the concepts of election, election administration, electoral and campaign violence were reviewed, electoral violence between 1960-2011 were reviewed, incidences of violence during the 2015 pre-election period were cited, data were generated, analyzed and extensively discussed on causes, nature, perpetrators and consequences of campaign violence and suggested solutions to the menace provided. This book will no doubt be a companion for policy makers, election managers, researchers, students and government who desire credible and violence free electoral process across the world.
