Nnana is a prize child because of his gender. He has suffered great misfortune from birth and when he was eight he was seriously injured by a car. His road to recovery was full of agony and pain because of poverty, illiteracy and crude medical practices. Faced with all the odds, did he survive them? Nnana's story exposes what it takes to overcome health challenges in most third world countries of the world. Similarly, healthcare workers have to contend with extreme challenges in their work environment day after day, the unfortunate and shockingly frequent consequences of which are disheartening but should be shared. Though a work of fiction, the experiences in this book are real and they are compiled to capture the attention of the young and the old; the common people, political leaders and policy makers of the world.

Dr Marcellinus O. Nkpozi is a Consultant Physician/ Endocrinologist, currently working with Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH), Aba, Abia State, Nigeria. An author of the diabetes blog(www.diabetesxperts.com) and several scientific publications in medical journals, he is the author of LETTER TO MY DEAR PATIENT, a counselling book.
