Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Anglistik - Linguistik, Note: 1,4, Pädagogische Hochschule Oberösterreich, Veranstaltung: Systemic Linguistics, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Betty Birner claims that determiner choice is influenced by different factors. In the present study, English learners with different levels of L2 proficiency were investigated regarding their choice of possessive pronouns and indefinite articles in body part descriptions. Based on existing literature on the pragmatic topic as well as on the findings of the study, the paper explores the variations in determiner choice and tries to find out in how far the determiner choice in English depends on the subject´s level of proficiency.
