Beschreibung
The novella Meat on the Table, all be it written in a literary style, will find its core readership amongst young and adults. The novella also has crossover potential because of its pop culture aspects, making it very much appealing to audiences who otherwise stick to genre fiction. Another aspect of the book, seeing how it belongs to literary fiction, is the fact that it draws from what is currently considered mainstream writing, meaning the classics. All these points make Meat on the Table very much marketable in my mind. For example, the main character of Ayda Ayduk, sort of a recluse, cannot accept that cannibalism is the dietary norm in his community while adhering to the same practice himself. Ayda Ayduk works in the morgue as an assistant where the reader is introduced to two more characters, the Chief Medical Examiner and a go-for young man named Krot. Ayda Ayduk gets out of his shell in the end thanks to his relationship with one Draga Lagrada and one more new friend whos life he saves through practicing cannibalism who works as a taxidermist. ITS A BOOK.
