Beschreibung
In the present research, the high temperature oxidation and high temperature corrosion (simulated boiler conditions) behavior of Wire Arc sprayed Ni-based coating (Ni-5Al and Ni-20Cr) on commonly used T11 and Gr A1 boiler steels was studied at 900 degree C for 50 cycles. Each cycle consisted of 1 hour heating at 900 degree C followed by 20 min. of cooling in air at room temperature. The kinematics of oxidation was established using weight change measurements for the bare and coated boiler steels. The oxidized samples were characterized using XRD, SEM/EDS, X-Ray mapping analyses. The coating was found to offer excellent oxidation resistance to the base steels.
