The work is a book based in Regional Planning & Economic Growth, relates to Migration and Employment in the recent and much publicized Informal Sector. Now, since a general study of Urban Informal Sector is difficult and inconclusive only one city, i.e., Bhopal has been chosen for the study, indeed with an eye on Informal Sector in general in third world countries including India. Further while studying Urban Informal Sector in Bhopal city particular attention has been paid to employment problem - pattern and migration, with a view to know the reasons and process of migration - major contributor to urban growth in India. Employment problem is being faced by unskilled, uneducated people in cities largely.

The Author- Rashmi Fauzdar, B.SC.,M.A(economics), M.Phil(Regional Planning), is a Central Banking professional with thirty two years of experience in formulation of banking policy and regulation, foreign exchange/currency management in India. Represented RBI in several international and multilateral banking and financial forums and committees.
