This book presents applications of practices related to Environmental Management in Non-Profit Organizations (NPIs). Through a teaching project that sought to provide theory and practice to students of Production Engineering at UFRN, it was possible to multiply the knowledge acquired in the classroom about sustainability and contribute positively to improving the environmental performance of the institutions contemplated. Thinking about sharing the results obtained and inspire more people who seek viable solutions related to sustainability, we selected 5, among the work developed, to represent the policy of the 5 R's: Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. With the implementation of this project in the OSFL's, we realized that the role of the Production Engineer can go far beyond industries and private companies. By applying our technical knowledge to processes, we help organizations that work with limited resources to manage them rationally, consume what is necessary and make them more sustainable.
