In a changing, intricate and increasingly competitive environment, the postulate knowledge is power has become of primary importance. The overarching trend is attaching more importance to what an organization knows than to what an organization owns. The shift towards organizational intangible assets marks out the significance of the intellectual capital which sustains the organizations performance and effectiveness in response to the environmental opportunities and pressures. Knowledge and intelligent workforce place themselves as paramount tiers of value and of wealth creation for the organization and its members, independent of the organizations profile or sector. Against this backdrop, the volume aims at elaborating on the knowledge issue, starting from the intellectuals profile within the context of a tendentious modernity, continuing with the exploration of knowledge strategies and intergenerational learning in academia, going beyond the organizations boundaries towards a network approach and climaxing with the capitalization of knowledge within intelligent virtual organizations and innovation within creative industries.
Autorenporträt
Elena-Madalina Vatamanescu is Lecturer at the Faculty of Management, NUPSPA, Romania. She is Deputy Head of the Research Center in Management and Leadership and Postdoctoral Researcher in Communication Sciences. Her main research interests are organizational theory, intellectual capital, knowledge management, international business and leadership.
