The healthcare sector is unique in all its characteristics with social, political, legal, economic, technological and managerial dimensions. It is therefore very difficult to approach the measurement of the performance of health care services, although performance measurement is essential for improvement, as there is increasing pressure in all countries to ensure that limited health care funds are spent in an optimal manner. The aim of this book is give its readers insights into different issues in health care management from different countries around the world. The chapters presented in this book can be useful to health care providers, managers as well as policy makers.
