This book examines the financial and strategic performance of firms in India. A subjective model has been developed, to measure the performance of firms. The success of firms mainly depends on the extent to which the firms are managed efficiently. The performance of firms is influenced by market value performance, customer satisfaction and environmental performance. The study of firm performance would be helpful, for the firms and governments, to frame policies and strategies, for better performance. Besides, it is also helpful to service providers/Government, to decide the best way to provide market value, to all the stakeholders. It is beneficial for the firms, to enhance the quality of corporate strategy, to protect the interests of all the stakeholders, including customers, policy makers, apex regulating bodies and the standard of living as a whole. Besides, it increases the responsiveness of the firm to the needs of the society.

MURUGESAN SELVAM is Professor and Head, Department of Commerce and Financial Studies at Bharathidasan University, India. He got awarded D.Litt from Bharathiar University.
