Beschreibung
France and Germany are important trading and policy partners but also have intense relationships on research cooperation in diverse areas. This book analyses the variety of French-German re-search cooperation. It addresses specific dimensions of French-German research cooperation: ranging for example from basic to applied research or from company start-ups to a joint French-German institute. In fact, it can be shown that a large repository of knowledge and experience in French-German bilateral research cooperation was accumulated during the past years and dec-ades. Using a comparative approach, the analyses carried out in the book aim to identify the specific experience gained from selected examples of French-German research cooperation in a systematic manner. Bilateral cooperation faces various challenges, but at the same time en-compasses great opportunities. The authors wish to point at learning effects from French-German research cooperation that may support future binational as well as international activities.
