Beschreibung

The Shocking research findings shows digital or technology divide causes poverty, divisions, and social anarchy. These vices impedes democratic ideals from being realized. Segments of the society are alienated and rendered poor, backward and misfits in their own country. It is causes vices such as poverty; lack of access to essential information and services, crime and social evils as some sections feels segregated and unfit etc. The book investigates what causes this disparity between segments of the population. It candidly examines the dynamics of this phenomenon such as same levels of income and education but differences in ICT uptake. In developed as well as developing countries, these differentials must be resolved or reduced for a country to realize improved standards of Living. The findings show that these variances are there. Majority of the respondents suggested that interventions in form of government policies such as tax reduction, tax-waivers among other measures etc. are required to address the existing digital divide. Various recommendations to address these challenges were drawn and are discussed at the end the book.
