Development economics is one among the different types of specialization under the umbrella of Economics. The problem of development in the current world became the major area of focus for development economists and other scientists as well. The third world countries are under serious developmental problems whereas their developed counter parts have succeeded in boosting their economic development. Development economics is primarily devoted to theories and models dealing with growth and development. Besides, it is largely dealing with the issues of development policy. It begins with a review of the role and significance of policy in the context of development. The course is much covering specific policy issues in the areas of agriculture, demography, education, health, urbanization and migration
