Changes in the economy have caused businesses to face challenges in their choice of capital structure. This research highlights the Pecking Order theory and the effects of UK macroeconomics on companies between 2008 and 2013. It focuses on the decision making processes of firms from a theoretical perspective then linked to empirical findings. Variation in capital structure is the key element that has been considered.
