This work shows the relevance of Cooperation, R&D and Organizational Innovative as determinants of Innovation in Portuguese SMEs. The individual study of each this key factors of Innovation, shows the importance of it to the development of an European economy and the importance that Innovation have in the SMEs of a small country like Portugal. This book analyses individually Cooperation and R&D and gives the opportunity to encompass the most important factors about the procedures of abandon or ongoing innovation activities. Also, shows the importance of Organizational Innovative Performance when related with the role of Cooperation, Absorptive Capacity and Public Policy, as a stimulation of Innovation in Portuguese SMEs. The database was obtained through the Community Innovation Survey 2010. The results shows and highlighted the most important variables that lead Portuguese SMEs to innovated.

Filipe Duarte is a Ph.D. in Management at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Covilhã, Portugal. His academic background also includes a Master degree in Business Finance and a Graduate in Business Management. He is a research fellow at NECE - Research Unit in Business Science. He is an Adjunct Professor, Accountant and Consultant.
