In this book Freda discusses the seeming apathy in trade unions among young workers, focusing on young people in the South African Commercial, Catering and Allied Workers Union (SACCAWU).She triggers a discourse on how trade unions should create space for young workers. She draws on literature for trade union membership recruitment and organizing to reshape the way young people perceive trade unions.

She possesses an appreciable knowledge in Industrial Relations, Negotiation and leadership skills and Trade Union Recruitment and Organising skills. She is the secretary of their Staff Union.
