Past and present conflicts affected and continuing affecting life of millions of people around the world every day. It has been recognized that all types of violence and different kind of security threat are not only external, but also internal.They cover all aspects of our life, political, social and economic. They do have not only obvious consequences on peoples life but also hidden and indirect effects which affect life and mental well-being of millions of people around the world. Mental health is a complex phenomenon which is determined by multiple social, biological, psychological and environmental factors. Its estimated that today around 1500 million people worldwide are suffering from some kind of psychiatric disorder, including mental, behavioral and substance abuse disorders. Some 400 million people suffer from different anxiety disorders, panic, phobias and PTSD. This work suggests that there are hidden and indirect effects of wars and violence which influence life of people around the world and looks closely at some of them and highlights sever priority actions for their followup and control.

Miss Yuliya Lyamzina, MBA, PhD: Studied Security Studies at Prague Security Studies Institute, Public Health and Epidemiology at Masaryk University and International Relations and European Studies at Metropolitan University Prague. Since 2012 is working for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Vienna, Austria.
