Beschreibung

Maids are domestic servants who are hired in other people houses for work. They usually are the ones who take over the role of bread winner for their families. They are forced to adopt this profession as they don't feel fit for other occupations. Their wages, generally, are found to be quite low and working conditions not very ideal. They come from a low social status and the professions they take do not offer them prolific prospects of advancement. This research was conducted in the year 2011 in Moran Nangyal Sawan Camp village, Islamabad. This book carries an introduction to the topic, literature reviewed and methodology, village profile, social organization, family structure, rituals attached to occasion and kinship patterns. In the end reason for adopting the profession, their working, travelling, living style and impact on their families has been discussed.
