The soft lining materials have a key role in modern prosthodontics because of their capability of restoring health of inflamed and distorted mucosa. The increasing use of dentures in senile and institutionalized adults, who are prone to stomatitis and other infections, has caused increasing the denture related infections, disinfectant solutions have been suggested as a method for effectively cleaning resilient liners. The denture cleansers are used daily by patients who can damage soft denture liners. In order to overcome the disadvantages of chemical disinfection, the use of microwave energy has been suggested.

Mr Ihssan Faris has Bsc and master degree in dentistry. He is a lecturer in Mosul university/College of dentistry, Department of prosthesis. He participated at specialized conferences, workshops, dental and medical meetings in Iraq as well as abroad. He is now a candidate to doctorate mission (scholarship) in UK.
