Beschreibung
Friederike Neunhoeffer analyzes the conflict between freedom of the press and data protection. In order to facilitate journalistic work, the media require special provisions guaranteeing freedom of the press. The EC Data Protection Directive provides for such privilege which was implemented in different ways into German and English law. Friederike Neunhoeffer compares these laws and analyzes whether the existing provisions in the German and English Data Protection Act protect the individual's rights sufficiently.
