The protection of human rights in Nigeria has become a priority for the Nigerian judiciary in recent years. It is no news that human right is not just a domestic concern, but also an international concern. This makes the judiciary to interpret the provisions of Nigerian Laws on human rights with the consciousness that the whole world is watching. The Nigerian judiciary have not shied away from this responsibly, regardless of what type of government is in power - military or democratic. This book examines the provisions of human rights from the perspective of the superior courts in Nigeria through their decisions.

Tobiloba Awotoye is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Lead City University Ibadan. He had his LLM from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. He is also a PhD candidate at Institute of African Studies, the University of Ibadan, Ibadan. His research interests include Criminal Justice, International Terrorism, Human Rights and African Law.
