'The Guarantee in the European Legal History' The German law on guarantees looks back on over one hundred years of case history. The author analysis the judgments of the German 'Reichsgericht' and the 'Bundesgerichtshof' with a focus on the guarantee contract itself, the creditor's pre-contractual and contractual obligations and the financial overstrain of the guarantor. Additionally he compares the principles of the German law on guarantees to the rules of the DCFR, determining and assessing differences and similarities.

Trygve Jansen studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel und legte 2011 das erste Staatsexamen ab. Anschließend begann er mit den Arbeiten an seiner Dissertation, die von Herrn Prof. Dr. Rudolf Meyer-Pritzl betreut und die durch ein Landesgraduiertenstipendium des Landes Schleswig-Holstein gefördert wurde. Das Manuskript wurde im Dezember 2013 fertiggestellt. Das Rigorosum fand im Dezember 2015 statt. Im März 2016 legte Trygve Jansen das zweite Staatsexamen vor dem Oberlandesgericht Hamburg ab. Seit Juni 2016 ist er am Verwaltungsgericht Hamburg als Richter tätig.
