'Whistleblowing and Dismissal Protection in the Multi-Level System. An Analysis of the ECHR, Directive 2019/1937, and the HinSchG': The study examines dismissal protection for whistleblowers in the European multi-level system. Initially, the human rights framework of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) is outlined. Against this backdrop, the EU Directive on Whistleblower Protection (Directive (EU) 2019/1937) and the German Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) are examined for their dismissal-related provisions. Ultimately, the implementation of HinSchG into the overall German dismissal protection doctrine is illustrated.

Felix Buchwald studierte von 2013 bis 2020 Rechtswissenschaften an der Universität zu Köln, mit einem Auslandsaufenthalt an der National Law University of India in Bangalore im Jahre 2015/2016. Im Anschluss an das Erste Staatsexamen war er bis 2022 als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Deutsches und Europäisches Arbeits- und Sozialrecht (IDEAS) an der Universität zu Köln tätig. Seine Dissertation zum Kündigungsschutz von Whistleblowern im europäischen Mehrebenensystem, die von Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Ulrich Preis betreut wurde, schloss er im Jahre 2023 ab. Im Oktober 2024 begann er sein Referendariat am Landgericht Köln.
