The object of this book is firstly to shed light on less understood areas of International humanitarian Law, secondly to unlock the prevailing and existing situation at the ground level and finally to what could be done to improve the volatile position during wartime.The author has focused on the origin of Humanitarian Law itself to seek a real answer in the historical source; moreover, the authors work also covers numerous grey areas were dissemination is the need of the hour, like children and women in armed conflict, terrorism, private non-state actors to establish a familiar chord. Finally, the author harbingers on the developments in India to give a lucid account on the future course of action in tune with the various methods and to channelize dissemination in a proper channel.

Mr. Atul Alexander is presently Assistant Professor of Law at West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), one of the leading law schools in India. He is also a member of the Asian Society of International Law (ASIL ). He is presently pursuing his Ph.D. on the topic "The Concept of Peremptory Norm in General International Law"
