The research examines Azerbaijans Iran policy in the contemporary international relations system between the years 1991 and 2009, expressing more specifically the place and features of Iran in Azerbaijans geopolitics and foreign policy. Therefore, despite of geographical, historical heritage and cultural closeness the Republic of Azerbaijans relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran is still remaining tense from the first day of relationships and from time to time it culminates crises. The book finds out that there is an Azerbaijan issue in Iran and it comes from the factor of the division the lands and people of Azerbaijan which northern part of that is independent. At the contemporary period the dispute over the Caspian Sea and considering that the Caspian region is of crucial geopolitical region and there is great interest of Great Powers which influence on the relationship between Azerbaijan and Iran are issues the book discusses, as well.

Aybaniz P.Huseyn received an MA in International Relations at Department of International Relations from Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Eastern Mediterranean. She got BA in Law Faculty from Baku State University. She has obtained successful experience in different NGO's, as well as, in research and teaching.
