In this book we have endeavored to show various types of modalities used for communication among the deaf children at home and in a school situation. Multimodal communication is used by human beings for meeting the communication needs. Deaf Children are no different in the usage of multimodal communication. Multimodal communication essentially consists of usage of various modes used for communication, such as gesture, gaze, sign language, tactile, textual modes which are visual & spoken words, interjections that are auditory and combination of these modes as chaining. This aspect needs to be recognized by the society. Multimodal communication, which has various patterns, which is perceived at initiation, response and evaluation stage of communication is demonstrated and illustrated in this book using visuals. An attempt is made this book to depict the patterns, in usage of various modalities in depicting the historical bodies in a situation. Efforts have been made to evaluate the usage of various types of multimodal communication usage in a school and home setup. This book will benefit the students, parents and professionals in the field of rehabilitation of persons with Deafness.
