The problem with low bandwidth networks like satellite link is the capacity of these networks. The Book is focused on best utilization of the available bandwidth. The network delay that occures is 10 times greater than in conventional networks. The mismatch between the high capacity of these networks and available storage at the intermediate routers in the network cause unique problems for TCP, beside the high running cost of this networks links to the costumers and the need to utilize the link for the high traffic data or voice. The objective that discussed in this book is to investigate some of the issues arising in the design of TCP behavior algorithms for low bandwidth networks. In particular, the silence time and gaps that occur during TCP round trip time. To investigate the performance of new designed technique and modified version of TCP. The new gaping technique had proposed sending data in TCP silence time. That data will be sent out as segments in multiple, small bursts during each Round Trip Time (RTT).

Elsadig Gamaleldeen was born in Sudan, He received the B.Sc. degree In Computer Engineering from Future University in Khartoum (2001) , M.Sc in Computer Engineering from Algazira University in Khartoum (2005) and the PhD in Communication from Karari University in Khartoum (2015). Assistant Professor and a fellow of the Sudan engineering society.
